WYOMING AIR NATIONAL GUARD PROJECTS – C-130 FLIGHT SIMULATOR BUILDING

Location: Cheyenne, WY

Year completed: 2015

PROJECT COST: $5 MILLION

Over the past 30 years, our team has completed several projects for the Wyoming Air National Guard (WYANG), ranging from roof replacements and vehicle storage facilities, to 40,000 sq.ft. specialized tactical facilities.

For this project, we designed a building to house a flight simulator training facility for C-130 aircraft. The incorporation of this facility at the Wyoming Air National Guard in Cheyenne allows both local and regional/national C-130 flight crews to train on the flight simulator.

The secure, 11,400 sq ft facility consists of offices, classrooms, and simulator control/computer room, as well as a 58x51x40’ flight simulator bay. (Note: Flight simulator was purchased, installed, and operated under separate contract.)

As this is a secure facility, all access to and from the facility is controlled via card-reader locksets, which provide a record as to who gained access to the facility. This facility is also accredited to Silver LEED status and has photo-voltaic (solar) panels on the roof.

The building was constructed as a design/bid project by Faith Enterprises, Inc. out of Colorado Springs, CO.
